Rain precipitations variations in the Buenos Aires province surroundings in Argentina has been studied. This research included a period of years which goes from 1745 to 1900. A graphic where 950 mm is considered as the rain average towards the end of the 19th. century has also been designed. In this work, “dry years” refers to the amount of 450 mm yearly to 600 mm, “regular years” includes the amount between 600 and 950 mm and “wet years” are those when rains were over 950 mm. The annual “rain days” are transformed in millilitres by multiplying for a 10 coefficient. Thus, it is found that the precipitations have increased approximately and in average about 200 mm every fifty years. The following times are regarded as years with strong draughts: 1751-1760; 1771-1780 and 1826-1835. Years 1841- 1850; 1875-1884 and 1890-1899 are characterized by rains. The vegetation transformations, along with the increase in rains, are due to the introduction of exotic vegetal species, fires for pasturelands and the stamping on and feeding of the introduced cattle. In 150 years the name has changed from “desierto” (desert) to “pampa húmeda” (wet pampa) in the studied region.es_ES
