Presents the research program of a clinical center, the AIGLE Foundation in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The authors describe the potentialities and advantages of research in this context. H. M. Fernández-Alvarez et al also describe the institute, the types of patients treated, and its professional staff. The activity of a total of 30 therapists of the institute were studied over a 3-yr period, and the treatments of 64 adult patients were also studied. The program covers 4 areas: determining the demand for psychotherapeutic care in the population at large, studying the conditions making participation in community mental health possible, analysis and follow-up of the outcomes, and studying the personal styles of the therapists. Finally, the authors discuss the usefulness and applicability of these results for clinical practice.es_ES
